Hundreds of dollars of forged checks were written on an account over a period of more than six months.
According to a Bowling Green Police Department report, the victim told police he had misplaced several checks while moving from an apartment in the 1300 block of Clay Street last year.
From June 11, 2007, to Jan. 24, 56 checks totaling $1,364 had been forged on the account at Integra Bank.
The report states that the bank had closed the victim’s account July 1, 2007.
Checks were forged on purchases at several restaurants and convenience stores, according to the report.
Burglary — Someone stole a laptop computer and cash from an apartment in the 2600 block of Navajo Drive between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Monday, according to a city police report.
A witness reported seeing two men boosting another man up to an upstairs window, allowing the third man to gain entry.
Losses and damage totaled $1,590.
Theft — Someone stole a 120-piece tool set, 17 CDs and a radar detector, altogether worth $334, from a car parked at Best Value Inn, 250 Cumberland Trace Road, between 9:30 p.m. Saturday and 7:30 a.m. Sunday, according to a city police report.
Theft — Someone stole a microphone bag containing money and checks June 12, according to a city police report.
The bag had last been seen at Hillvue Heights Church, 3219 Nashville Road. The money and checks totaled $2,611.
Theft — Someone stole an iPhone worth $430 from a basketball court at 200 E. Sixth Ave. between 8:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. Sunday, according to a city police report. The victim said he set the phone down on the bleachers next to the court before playing basketball.
