A traffic stop turned tragic Saturday in Warren County when a man killed himself after being pulled over by Kentucky State Police. The incident took place at about 5:50 p.m. on Ky. 101 near Martinsville Road. State Police Lt. John Clark said troopers had received information from the Hendersonville (Tenn.) Police Department about an armed man, driving a pickup truck and reportedly suicidal. Troopers from Post 3 who were patrolling the area saw a truck matching the one described by the Tennessee agency, traveling north on Ky. 101. A state trooper attempted to get the driver - whose identity was not released - to pull over man. “He didn’t immediately stop,” Clark said. “He traveled for about a mile and pulled his truck down into a ditch.” Clark said the man then pulled out a handgun, shooting himself in the side of the head before officers could approach the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Warren County Deputy Coroner Chris Smith.
