J. W. McFarland

J. W. McFarland of Campbellsville, son of the late William Bryan McFarland and Bertha Gardner McFarland, was born October 5, 1931 in Taylor County, Kentucky.  He died at 6:45 P.M., Tuesday, June 16, 2009 in Campbellsville.   Age: 77

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. 

He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served his country honorably in the United States Army.

He was employed as a butcher at A & P Grocery for twenty-seven years and was owner and operator of McFarland Custom Meat Processing and also a farmer.

He was 6th District Magistrate of Taylor County for over twenty years.

He was a member of the Pitman Masonic Lodge No. 124 F & A M.

He united in marriage to Ann Wethington February 25, 1957.

Besides his wife, Ann McFarland of Campbellsville, he is survived by two sons and two daughters:  Bryan McFarland and wife, Kim, Patty Rodgers and husband, Doug and Mark McFarland and wife, Kim of Campbellsville and Lynn McFarland of Bardstown; three grandchildren:  Megan Rodgers, Rachel Rodgers and Jenna McFarland of Campbellsville; one sister, Oneida Carnes of Louisville; sister-in-law, Frances McFarland of Louisville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Dalton McFarland.
