The Hatfields are our best friends. James was an example of what God can make out of an ole Mountain boy. I will always rembember our lives together in the USAF. Our wives had babies at about the same time so Pat and Betty had to push them all around the town of Sumter SC to watch James and me play ball. Him with red tennis shoes on. Jesus will have a good time with my friend. May god bless and keep Betty in his arms.

So sorry to hear about Bro. Jim's passing. I know that this has been a long hard road for a while and now he is finally up there with the Lord in peace where he belongs. He was a marvelous man, will always have a special place in my heart as my pastor and friend growing up in Central Baptist. Take care and feel the love from the many lives he and yourself have touched throughout the years.

Betty, Jimmy, Jeff, Julie, & Families, Brother Jim was apart of my life growing up and I hold many dear memories of Central Baptist Church and him. Like coaching me in softball and telling me it was for "fun" ha, but he always had a very calming demeanor even when I was blowing over the third basemen in my way! He was a very godly person and I am sure that he helped contributed to the caring person I am today. May God Bless you in your time of loss I am so glad Brother Jim is not suffering anymore. Love to you all, Lora

Bro. Jim was integral part of my life while I was growing up. I can honestly say he was one of the kindest, most caring souls I ever got to know. I have many fond memories of him and Central Baptist and I am honored to say he was the man who Baptised me 20 years ago. My condolences go out to his family. He will be greatly missed!
